IPL 2026 LSG vs KKR: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pulled off a nail-biting finish at Eden Gardens, seizing a three-wicket victory over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Match 15 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. Mukul Choudhary emerged as the star of the night, whose explosive 54* off just 27 deliveries turned the game on its head. With 54 runs needed off the final four overs, and only three wickets in hand, Choudhary smashed seven towering sixes to guide LSG to victory off the final ball.

KKR register competitive total

After being sent to bat by LSG skipper Rishabh Pant, KKR posted a respectable 181/4. Contributions from Ajinkya Rahane (41 off 24) and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (45 off 33) steadied the innings after an uncertain start.

Late cameos from the middle order ensured KKR crossed the 180-mark, a total that appeared competitive on a pitch offering some assistance to bowlers.

LSG wobbles in early phase

Chasing 182, LSG got off to a brisk start before Vaibhav Arora struck twice in quick succession, removing Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh in the same over. At 56/2 at the end of the powerplay, the chase hung in balance. Ayush Badoni and Pant attempted to stabilise the innings, but regular wickets kept KKR in control for most of the chase.

With 13 runs required off the final over, Arora executed his plans well initially, bowling accurate wide yorkers. However, Choudhary’s fearless hitting proved decisive, as he retained strike and cleared the ropes under pressure to seal victory on the final delivery.

Mixed fortunes for both teams

Notably, the victory marks LSG’s second consecutive triumph, boosting their campaign after a shaky start. In contrast, KKR remain winless in the season so far, suffering their third defeat in four matches, with one game ending in a washout. Despite strong individual performances, KKR’s inability to close out tight contests continues to haunt them as the tournament progresses.
