Yuva Vidhayak Sammelan: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav on Monday attended the Yuva Vidhayak Sammelan in Bhopal, where he called for a citizen-centric approach to governance. He urged the young MLAs to rule the hearts of the commoners rather than just seeking authority during his address at the event.
Young MLAs from Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh were in attendance at the event, with as many as 37 representatives from MP, 15 from Chhattisgarh and 22 from Rajasthan.

“Youth must uphold democratic legacy”: CM Dr Yadav
Addressing the event, CM Dr Yadav outlined the deep-rooted democratic traditions of Madhya Pradesh, noting that its legacy dates back to thousands of years. He referred to the transformative influence of Gautam Buddha, saying that the foundations of democratic thought in India have long shaped global perspectives. He remarked, ”India in today’s era stands among the world’s major powers and other democracies are learning from us. It is the responsibility of our youth to uphold and enhance this proud legacy.”

CM Dr Yadav continued by saying that young leaders must cultivate genuine relationships with citizens, while emphasising the importance of strong public engagement. He then said, “You must learn how to stay connected with the general public. The goal is to win their hearts.” Furthermore, he encouraged the legislators to devote adequate time to understanding both the challenges and strengths of their constituencies, underscoring that informed leadership is the key to effective governance.
CM calls for discipline, collective governance
The Chief Minister then urged the young politicians present at the event to maintain personal well-being and avoid unnecessary stress, advocating a composed and solution-oriented approach to public issues. “Seriousness and balance are essential in addressing problems of the people,” he said. He also underlined the importance of cooperation, expressing hope that both ruling and opposition members would work together constructively in parliamentary life.

Towards the end, he underscored the need for decorum in politics, recalling that even during the tenure of MP’s former CM Kamal Nath, there had been mutual cooperation on cultural initiatives such as Vikramotsav. As the final advice, he concluded by cautioning against forcing people into politics, stating that genuine talent will naturally flourish. “If there is merit, the next generation will automatically find its way into leadership on its own,” he said.
