Amid the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) emphatic victory trends in Assam and West Bengal on Monday, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav arrived at the party’s headquarters in Bhopal, engaging in celebrations with senior leaders. The party members shared traditional snacks and described the victory as a historic political moment.

Addressing the media-persons, CM Dr Yadav targeted the opposition, attributing their defeat to ‘divisive politics’ and alleged disrespect towards women. He termed the BJP’s victory as a triumph of ‘patriotic forces’ and credited it to divine blessing, as well as the trust of the commoners.

“BJP on its way to form governments in Assam, Bengal”: CM

The Chief Minister asserted that the BJP is on its way to form governments in both West Bengal and Assam. He highlighted that the party has already entered into its third consecutive term in Assam.

He then reflected on previous elections in Bengal, saying the BJP had made significant inroads earlier and has now secured a breakthrough under Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi’s leadership.

He claimed that the mandate reflects the public's opposition to separatism and infiltration, adding that voters have endorsed the policies of the Union Government. Additionally, he opined that the public’s anger towards the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) had played a pivotal role in shaping the victorious outcome.

CM Dr Yadav then tore into Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, as well as parties within the INDIA bloc. He accused them of undermining Nari Shakti (Women’s empowerment) and engaging in (DMK), alleging that its derogatory remarks against the Sanatan culture had alienated voters.

Wave of development ahead for Bengal, CM expresses hopes

Commenting on West Bengal’s political trajectory, CM Dr Yadav said that the state had been prosperous once, but suffered setbacks under successive regimes led by the Congress, Left parties and the TMC. He contended that voters were irked with the state lagging behind, while the other parts of the country progressed under PM Modi’s leadership. He said, “With the BJP’s victory, a new wave of development will sweep across Bengal.”
