After senior BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari was crowned the Chief Minister (CM) of West Bengal on Saturday, following the party’s sweeping victory in the Assembly Polls 2026, his Madhya Pradesh counterpart Dr Mohan Yadav congratulated him. CM Dr Yadav posts congratulatory message on ‘X’
Following the oath-taking ceremony, CM Dr Yadav posted a congratulatory message for Adhikari on ‘X’. His post read, “Today marks the dawn of a new era of good governance, security and development in West Bengal.” He extended his heartfelt wishes to Adhikari, expressing hope that under his leadership, and with the guidance of Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi, the state would clock new benchmarks in development, governance, investment and public welfare.
Further in the post, CM Dr Yadav also congratulated BJP workers and the general public of West Bengal for what he described as a ‘historic political transformation.’

Previous regimes slammed by CM Dr Yadav
On the eve of the ceremony, MP’s top political leader had asserted that West Bengal has historically played a key role in India’s development, but had fallen behind due to the policies of the previous governments, namely, of the Congress, the Left parties and the Trinamool Congress. He expressed optimism that the state would now advance in the direction of progress, leaving behind ‘old-style politics.’

Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi also hailed the occasion as a defining moment in history. He too posted a message on social media, describing May 9, 2026 as a significant and proud day, which would be remembered for ushering in a new chapter of dignity, hope and good governance.
