MP Holi: Holi, the festival of colours, unfolded in vibrant hues across Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday, as colours, traditions and cultural performances brought the cities alive. On the occasion, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav celebrated the festivities by playing Holi with Gulaal and flowers. He was joined by MP’s Deputy CM Rajendra Shukla and state’s former CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who sang ‘Phag’, adding to the festival’s vibrancy.

Former CM Digvijaya Singh smears colours on party workers


Former CM of Madhya Pradesh and senior Congress leader, Digvijaya Singh also joined in the festivities, and smeared colours on the faces of Congress party's workers. During this, he also propagated the message of harmony and good-will.

Grand processions organised at revered temples across MP


In state capital Bhopal, the Shri Hindu Utsav Samiti organised a historic procession from Dayanand Chowk to Janakpuri, drawing a huge footfall. Devotees and residents joined in with colours and music, turning the streets into a spectacle of celebration.


At the ISKCON temple in Jabalpur’s Lamheta Ghat, a Braj-style Holi was scheduled from 5 pm onwards, recreating the traditional fervour associated with Lord Krishna’s homeland.

In the city of temples, Ujjain, various akhadas hosted special Holi gatherings, where saints emerged as the centre of attraction. Meanwhile, Indore’s swanky hotels arranged grand Holi events for revellers seeking organised celebrations.

The Indore Central Jail, in a heartwarming gesture, hosted a special Holi event at 10:30 am under administrative supervision. The jail inmates applied gulal to one another and participated fervently in cultural performances and music, fostering a message of brotherhood and positivity within the premises. 



Gwalior slated to witness ‘Moorkh Sammelan’


Meanwhile, MP’s Gwalior is slated to witness its traditional ‘Moorkh Sammelan’ on the evening of Holi Padwa at Maharaj Bada locality. The humorous gathering, filled with satire and wit, promises laughter as part of the festivities.


In Bhopal’s Mata Mandir area, crowds flocked the stalls serving thandai, and enjoyed the festive drink amid music and colour. The temple premises and surrounding streets radiated joy, with the youth celebrating Holi enthusiastically.
