MP farmers' workshop: The Madhya Pradesh government on Monday organsied a state-level workshop for farmers at the Kushabhau Thakre Convention Centre located in state capital Bhopal as part of the ongoing ‘Kisan Kalyan Varsh.’ Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav, Deputy CMs Jagdish Deora and Rajendra Shukla, as well as ministers from departments related to agriculture, MLAs, public representatives, BJP office-bearers and several stakeholders associated with the agriculture sector attended the event.

Representatives apprised of government schemes


The workshop’s goal was to acquaint public representatives and intellectuals with various welfare schemes being implemented by multiple departments of the government for farmers. Officials provided insights on initiatives designed to enhance agricultural productivity and ensure the economic growth of the farmers. The participants were also encouraged to play an active role in spreading awareness about government schemes among the rural communities and the farmers. 

MP farmers' workshop: Agriculture-centred exhibitions displayed at event


Various departments put up an exhibition to showcase modern agricultural practices and allied activities. Through the displays, the farmers were informed about opportunities to ramp up their income through diversified agricultural activities. The exhibition also focused on areas like fisheries, horticulture, dairy farming and food processing. During the event, farmers who successfully adopted innovative techniques to boost their income shared success stories. 

CM highlights multi-sectoral approach

CM Dr Yadav, while addressing the gathering, said that the state government is observing the Kisan Kalyan Varsh through nearly 17 departments, aimed at benefiting farmers and stakeholders associated with agriculture across MP. He added that the workshop brought together progressive farmers, dairy producers, livestock rearers and professionals associated with the agricultural industries to exchange ideas and strengthen the farming ecosystem. 

Furthermore, CM Dr Yadav announced that similar workshops will now be organised at the district and assembly constituency levels. He informed that the government has also set development targets until Vikram Samvat 2083 (March 2027) to strengthen the agricultural sector. 

CM spills beans on meeting with PM Modi


Talking to the media, CM Dr Yadav said that during his interaction with PM Narendra Modi, he informed him about the Kisan Kalyan Varsh initiative. He added that the government is tirelessly working towards welfare in four key segments identified by the PM, namely, farmers, the poor, youth and women, and expressed hope that the efforts will yield positive results.
