Cow vigilante ‘Farsa Wale Baba’ mowed to death by truck in Mathura, protestors block highway; CM orders action against accused

Farsa Wale Baba Death Mathura: Tensions flared in UP’s Mathura on Saturday after cow vigilante saint Chandrashekhar alias ‘Farsa Wale Baba’ was allegedly mowed to death by a truck in the early hours of Saturday. Following the tragedy, his supporters blocked the Agra-Delhi highway as a symbol of protests. The incident took place near the Navipur village in the Kosi Kalan police station area, where scores of cow vigilantes congregated and staged a road blockade. The protest resulted in traffic snarls and left commuters reeling for several hours.

Baba was chasing cattle smugglers when the incident occurred


As per reports, the incident unfolded in the early hours of Saturday, at around 4 am. The saint was reportedly pursuing suspected cattle smugglers on a bike, when he was allegedly knocked down by a truck. The locals managed to apprehend one youth from the spot, and handed him over to the cops, while three other suspects fled the scene. The police said they have launched a manhunt to nab the remaining accused.

As the news of Baba's death spread, a huge number of supporters and locals assembled at the scene, and the crowd swelled into hundreds within a short span of time. The protestors, in a fit of rage, blocked the busy highway, demanding the immediate arrest of all those involved behind Baba’s death.

Notably, the ‘Farsa Wale Baba’ was widely regarded as a key figure in the cow protection movement across the Braj region. His death has triggered both outrage and grief among his followers. Senior police and administrative officials are on the spot, and are attempting to pacify the agitated crowd while ensuring law and order. 



Farsa Wale Baba Death Mathura: CM orders swift, strict action


Meanwhile, UP Chief Minister (CM) Yogi Adityanath has directed the officials to reach the site immediately and ensure strict action against the ones involved in Baba’s killing. He also extended condolences to the bereaving family and instructed authorities to arrest the accused at the earliest. He emphasised that the accused must not be spared under any circumstances.
