A fresh political storm has been brewing in Tamil Nadu after senior DMK leader and Tiruchendur MLA Anitha Radhakrishnan opined on Sunday that the Vijay-led Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) government would not last beyond six months. His remarks came while addressing the party workers at an event in Southern Tamil Nadu.
Radhakrishnan launched a fierce attack on CM Vijay and the ruling coalition, while expressing confidence that former CM of the state, MK Stalin would soon return to power.

“Govt to last only 4 to 6 months”: Radhakrishnan
During his address, Radhakrishnan also threw a challenge to TVK leader and Villivakkam MLA Aadhav Arjuna to resign from his assembly seat and contest against him in Tiruchendur. He remarked, “Only four more months this government will survive. There is one person called Aadhav Arjuna. If you have guts, resign from your MLA position, I will also do it. Let’s face off in Tiruchendur. This is our town, we will defeat anyone.”
Stalin will return as Tamil Nadu CM, says Radhakrishnan
Radhakrishnan also defended former CM of Tamil Nadu, MK Stalin after the DMK failed to form government in the state in the recently-concluded Assembly Polls 2026. On Stalin failing to capture the Kolathur seat, he praised his developmental work in the constituency, saying Stalin had transformed Kolathur like ‘Singapore.’
He added, “We want our Thalaivar (leader) Stalin to contest in Trichy. Stalin changed Kolathur as Singapore,” while slamming voters in the constituency over the outcome of the elections.

He then predicted a political comeback for the DMK, asserting, “After four or six months, our leader will become the Chief Minister.” However, neither Stalin nor Vijay has responded to the controversial remarks publicly.
Anitha slams Vijay over personal life setbacks
Refusing to mince his words, Radhakrishnan also took aim at Vijay’s personal life during his speech, referring to his ongoing divorce proceedings with wife Sangeetha Sornalingam. “You said you will protect women, but first respond to your wife and child. When you took oath as CM, did your wife or child attend?,” he asked.

Reportedly, Sangeetha filed for divorce in February 2026 after being married to Vijay for 27 years. She cited mental distress and alleged infidelity at the hands of the actor-politician since 2021 in court filings.
