Share market updates February 26: The Stock market closed today with a marginal decline of 27.46 points at 82248.61, and the Nifty closed with a marginal increase of 14.05 points at 25496.55. In today's trading, Pharma and Government Banks sectors saw the most significant gains.
Yesterday FII's purchased shares stood at Rs 2991 crore and on the contrary, DII's purchased shares logged Rs 5118 crore. In February 2026, till today, FII's purchased shares of Rs 4361 crore whereas DII's purchased shares of Rs 21098 crore. In the month of January 2026, FII's sold shares of Rs 41435 crore while DII's purchased shares worth Rs 69220 crore.
Today, a mixed movement was observed in the Asian Markets, with Japan Nikkei surging by 0.29% and closing at 58753 points, while a decline was observed in the Chinese markets. Additionally, the Shanghai Composite Index declined by 0.01% and closed at 4146 points. There, however, has been a spike in American Markets. Dow Jones closed with an increase of 0.63%, i.e. 307 points and closed at 49482 points. S&P 500 Index closed with an increase of 0.81%, i.e. 56 points and closed at 6946 points.
