The elevated corridor will house railway stations such as Majlis Park, Burari, Jharoda Majra, Jagatpur-Wazirabad, Soorghat, Nanaksar-Sonia Vihar, Khajuri Khas, Bhajanpura, Yamuna Vihar, and Maujpur-Babarpur.

Additionally, the project also includes other infrastructure elements like a new bridge over the Yamuna River and a double-decker viaduct, designed to accommodate both a metro line as well as a road flyover.

Magenta Line to get a boost too

At the same event, PM Modi will also inaugurate the Deepali Chowk-Majlis Park extension of the Magenta Line. The 9.92 km elevated corridor will have seven new stations in its kitty, taking its total length to approximately 49 km.

PM to lay foundation stone for 3 additional corridors

It is noteworthy that apart from the new sections’ inaugural, PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for three additional corridors under Phase V (A) of the metro expansion project. The corridors in the pipeline include the Central Vista corridor connecting Ramakrishna Ashram Marg to Indraprastha, along with two extensions of the Golden Line linking Aerocity to Terminal 1 of the airport and Tughlakabad to Kalindi Kunj.

Officials eye reduced traffic congestion, pollution

Officials said that the expanded metro network is expected to improve connectivity across Delhi and neighbouring cities falling in NCR, while aiming to reduce traffic congestion and pollution in the rapidly-growing city.
