Noted author and social thinker Shri Asok Kumar Haldar has been honoured with the prestigious Padma Shri, one of India's highest civilian awards, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to literature and education. A prolific writer who authored 13 books and more than 3,000 articles, Haldar has spent decades exploring social consciousness, human values, and philosophical thought through his writings. A renowned author and former Indian Railways train manager (guard), he was born in the Lalgola region of Murshidabad district, West Bengal, and currently resides in the English Bazar area of Malda town.
