The crackdown in the NEET UG 2026 paper leak intensified on Wednesday after the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) subjected properties linked to Shivraj Motegaonkar to action. Notably, Motegankar was recently arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the paper leak.

The civic body targeted premises associated with RCC coaching centre owned by Motegaonkar over alleged property tax defaults amounting to Rs 3.20 crore and unauthorised commercial activities.

PMC seals properties linked to RCC classes

PMC officials said that Shop no.1 on the first floor of the building, where the classes used to take place, has been sealed after notices were issued regarding the alleged operation of the centre without mandatory permissions.

Officials added that unauthorised construction and illegal alterations made to the parking spaces were discovered during inspections, prompting demolition action at the site. The civic body has also launched a broader probe into other properties allegedly linked to Motegaonkar across the city.

Motegaonkar was taken into custody after interrogation

The municipal action comes days after the central agency laid hands on Motegaonkar, founder and director of the RCC Coaching Institute in Latur, as part of the probe into the NEET UG 2026 paper leak. The CBI detained him following a seven-hour-long interrogation, after which a court in Delhi remanded him to nine days of CBI custody.

The CBI sleuths said that Motegaonkar played a key role in a larger network involved in illegally circulating the NEET UG 2026 exam papers and answer sheets.

The agency’s officials said that he conspired with other accused and officials linked to the National Testing Agency (NTA) to obtain leaked question papers and answers on April 23, 2026.

Question papers seized during raids at Motegaonkar’s house

Notably, the medical entrance exam was conducted nationwide on May 3, but was cancelled on May 12 after allegations of a paper leak surfaced. The exam is slated to be held again on June 21, 2026. The CBI, while probing the case, conducted raids at Motegaonkar’s house on May 14 in Latur and recovered a chemistry question bank containing questions identical to those asked in the exam.
