A married woman in Bihar’s Begusarai was allegedly gang-raped and was brutalised by five men who allegedly barged into her house, confined her husband in a room and attacked her before fleeing, the police said. According to police, a probe into the case is underway, with medical and forensic examinations expected to play a pivotal role in the case.

Sources said the alleged incident took place on the night of June 11, 2026, within the jurisdiction of the Chakiya Police station area. The survivor said a group of unidentified men entered her house at around 11:30 pm when she had stepped outside to answer nature’s call.

Forced abduction, sexual assault alleged

The woman alleged that the accused locked her husband inside a room. When she returned to the house, she claimed that the men gagged her and forcibly took her to a secluded place near her house.

She then alleged that the accused took turns to rape her and physically assaulted her too, when she attempted to resist and raise an alarm. She added that the accused also inflicted injuries on her body by means of a sharp-edged object, causing wounds to her chest and thigh.

Following the incident, her family members informed the police and rushed her to a hospital for treatment. After initial medical care, she was discharged, but continued to suffer from severe pain and discomfort.

The woman continued to narrate her ordeal, saying that her condition failed to improve after returning home, owing to which she sought further medical attention. As per her account, doctors conducted a detailed medical examination and recovered several objects, including a bullet, a stone and a piece of wood from her private parts.

The survivor told reporters, “I was in a lot of pain. During the medical examination, a bullet, a stone and a piece of wood were removed. I still have pain.” Adding to her statements, she said she had no recollection of how the objects were inserted, claiming that she lost consciousness during the attack.

Similar assault unfolded three months ago, says survivor

The woman said thereafter that a similar attack had taken place at her house almost three months ago, when unidentified men entered her home, assaulted her and attempted to assault her sexually, fleeing with cash and jewellery soon after. According to her, she had lodged a police complaint back then, but no action was taken.

She went home after being discharged on June 12. When she returned home, her internal parts were showing signs of damage. A bullet has been removed from her private parts.”

Senior police officials said they are working out the case to identify and apprehend the accused.
