Narmadapuram development projects: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav on Thursday reached the Narmadapuram district, where he announced projects worth Rs 972 crore to give the region a major welfare and infrastructure push. He also led the foundation stone laying ceremony for the upgradation and reconstruction of the Narmadapuram-Tirmani Road (State Highway 67) under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM).


Officials said that the 72.18-kilometre long stretch will be developed into a two-lane road with paved shoulders at an outlay of Rs 972.16 crore. They added that the Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation (MPRDC) will spearhead the project.

CM offers prayers at Hanuman Temple in Seoni Malwa


Earlier in the day, CM Dr Yadav offered prayers at the Dakshinmukhi Hanuman Temple and then embarked on an extensive roadshow in Narmadapuram’s Seoni Malwa town. His procession passed through key localities such as Range Office Square, Kallu Chowk, Narmada Temple Square, Sarafa Bazar, Gandhi Chowk and Jai Stambh Chowk. It came to a halt at the Old bus stand, drawing thousands of participants.

Projects worth Rs 106 cr inaugurated


The state’s top minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple development works valued at Rs 106.34 crore at an event held at the Agricultural Produce Market (Upaj Mandi) in Seoni Malwa. Of this, 45 projects were valued at Rs 48.65 crore and the foundation was laid for 51 projects worth Rs 57.69 crore. During the programme, the beneficiaries of various government welfare schemes also received benefits. 



Narmadapuram development projects: Key announcements made at the gathering


During his address, CM Dr Yadav made several key announcements aimed at ramping up social and agrarian sectors. He declared that the state government has decided to provide tetra milk packets to students up to Class 8 in the government schools of the state, integrating nutrition with education.

He reiterated that 2026 is being observed as the ‘Kisaan Kalyan Varsh,’ under which, initiatives have been lined up which focus on increasing farmers’ income. These include promotion of dairy production, encouragement of a third crop cycle, expansion of horticulture and ensuring seamless power supply. 


He asserted that the newly announced projects mark the beginning of a transformative development phase for the region, positioning Narmadapuram for sustained economic growth.
