Collector, SP removed over unruly conduct

Notably, the Chief Minister removed Ankit Soni, the SP of Guna, and Swaroachish Somwanshi, the city’s collector. Soni was removed after the police personnel under his supervision allegedly released a Gujarat-based trader by accepting a bribe of Rs 20 lakh, out of the Rs 1 crore seized from him. Four cops, including a station house officer (SHO) were suspended in the incident.

On the other hand, Somwanshi faced action after the CM received repeated complaints of administrative negligence, including irregular attendance at the Collector’s office and delays in approving key projects.
