MP Woman murder Khargone: A domestic violence case culminated in a woman’s death in Madhya Pradesh’s Khargone on Sunday. A 38-year-old man allegedly bludgeoned his wife to death, and continued to sleep beside her body for two days, all while the couple’s children remained in the same room. The police arrested the accused after his father informed them, and the incident has sent shockwaves across the region.

Woman was often assaulted by husband


According to police, the accused has been identified as Jagdish Dabar (38), who lived with his second wife Reemabai (25) and their two children aged 3 and 4 in a remote village in Khargone. The couple engaged in arguments often, as reported by the police, and Dabar frequently used to assault Reemabai.

The investigating police personnel said that a few days ago, another argument broke out between the couple over food. In a fit of rage, Dabar allegedly attacked Reemabai with a wooden stick, raining blows on her repeatedly. Reemabai sustained grievous injuries in the assault, and died after bleeding profusely. Despite the gravity of the crime, the accused neither sought help nor informed anyone. In another shocking display of nonchalance, he continued with his daily routine, even sleeping on the same cot beside Reemabai’s body for two days, with their kids present in the room.

Dabar’s father informs cops


The incident came to light after Dabar’s father grew suspicious and alerted the police. A team rushed to the village, recovered Reemabai’s body, and arrested Dabar. Police officer Gehlit Semlia said that the victim had succumbed to multiple injuries and suffered a severe blood loss caused by the assault. 


The police also learnt that Dabar had abandoned his first wife and four children earlier, before marrying Reemabai, who was his sister-in-law initially. His first wife reportedly left him following his second marriage. The couple’s kids have been handed over to child welfare officials. Meanwhile, the accused was produced in the court, which remanded him to judicial custody. The police added that the case is being examined from all angles.
