Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav on Wednesday paid floral tributes to former CM of the state, Kailash Nath Katju, on the occasion of his birth anniversary. During this, he recalled his contributions to public life and the development of the state.
CM Dr Yadav visited the Assembly premises and offered his respects to the veteran leader, terming him a distinguished statesman whose legacy still inspires future generations.

Addressing the media on the occasion, CM Dr Yadav also shed light on concerns surrounding the upcoming NEET exam and reflected on the government’s preparations to ensure a smooth and transparent process.
State govt in constant touch with Centre over NEET
The Chief Minister said the state government is in constant touch with the Union government regarding NEET re-test and is taking all the necessary steps to make the exam system secure, fair and transparent.
He underlined that the government is determined to prevent any recurrence of situations that may cause distress to students and their parents. He referred to recent concerns surrounding competitive exams across India, emphasising that every effort is being ensured to ramp up monitoring and security mechanisms.
Refreshment centres to be set up for candidates’ parents
The state’s top political leader further informed that directives have already been issued to all authorities concerned to ensure robust security arrangements at every exam centre. He added that adequate measures would be in place to facilitate the smooth and peaceful conduct of the examination.

He also announced that refreshment centres would be established at the examination venues for the parents of the exam-bound candidates, which are aimed at providing seating arrangements and other essential amenities to them. He also extended his best wishes to the candidates slated to take the exam.
UCC proposal likely in Monsoon session of Assembly

In a parallel development, CM Dr Yadav also indicated that the state government is preparing to introduce a proposal on the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) during the upcoming Monsoon Session of the MP Legislative Assembly. He expressed confidence over the proposal’s aspects, saying that with the blessings of Lord Mahakal, the resolution could be passed during the same session.
