In an unprecedented security arrangement ahead of the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination, question papers were transported by an Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopter in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhindwara district.

The move highlights the heightened precautions adopted by authorities to ensure the secure and timely delivery of examination materials following controversies surrounding the country’s premier medical entrance examination.

Officials said the use of an IAF helicopter was aimed at eliminating any possibility of delays or security breaches and ensuring that the question papers reached their designated centres under strict surveillance.

Enhanced Security Arrangements in Place

Authorities have put in place elaborate security measures to maintain the integrity of the re-examination process. Multiple layers of monitoring and coordination between the administration, law enforcement agencies and examination officials have been established to prevent any disruption.

The transportation of question papers by air is being seen as an extraordinary step reflecting the seriousness with which the authorities are approaching the re-test.

Security personnel have been deployed at key locations, while the movement of examination materials is being closely monitored to avoid any untoward incidents.

Focus on Maintaining Credibility of the Examination

The National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the NEET examination, has been under intense scrutiny following concerns and allegations linked to the conduct of the medical entrance test.

The re-examination is being conducted with an emphasis on transparency and fairness to restore confidence among students and parents.

Officials have stressed that every necessary measure is being taken to ensure that the examination process remains secure and free from malpractice. The administration has also appealed to candidates to follow guidelines and cooperate with authorities for the smooth conduct of the test.

Significance of the Move

The deployment of an Indian Air Force helicopter for transporting question papers is considered a rare and significant measure in the history of competitive examinations in the country.

It underscores the importance attached to safeguarding the sanctity of the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination and ensuring that candidates receive a fair and credible assessment process.

The re-test is expected to be conducted under stringent supervision, with authorities leaving no room for any lapse that could compromise the examination’s integrity.
