Panic gripped the MP Nagar area of Bhopal on Thursday after a young man climbed an electric pole near the Government Press building, drawing the attention of passersby and creating a commotion in the locality.

A large crowd soon gathered at the spot, while videos of the incident quickly went viral on social media.

Police Rush to the Spot

Upon receiving information about the incident, officials from the MP Nagar Police Station rushed to the scene and safely brought the man down from the electric pole.

Their prompt action helped avert any untoward incident and ensured the safety of the protester as well as the public.

Former Postal Department Employee

According to preliminary information, the youth is a resident of Harda district and had previously been employed with the Postal Department. It is alleged that he lost his job some time ago and had recently visited the department’s office in Bhopal to seek a resolution regarding his employment.

Allegations of Bribery for Reinstatement

The man claimed that he had been asked to pay ₹20,000 in exchange for being reinstated to his former position. He alleged that he had already paid ₹4,000 and was told that the remaining amount could be paid later.

According to his claims, officials had informed him that his reappointment would only be processed after the entire amount had been paid.

Dramatic Protest Sparks Concern

Distressed over the situation and frustrated by the alleged demand, the youth reportedly decided to stage a dramatic protest by climbing the electric pole near the Government Press.

The unusual act caused concern among local residents and commuters, prompting immediate intervention by the police.

Investigation Underway

Authorities managed to persuade the man to come down safely, preventing a potentially serious accident. Further investigation is underway, and officials are expected to examine the allegations made by the youth regarding the alleged demand for money in connection with his reinstatement.

No injuries were reported in the incident, and the situation was brought under control without any disruption to public safety.
