Actor-Politician and Tamil Nadu’s newly sworn-in Chief Minister (CM) Vijay’s final film, Jana Nayagan is expected to receive a theatrical release within the upcoming two weeks, the film’s producer, Venkat K Narayana confirmed on Sunday.

While speaking on the sidelines of the recent swearing-in ceremony, Narayana, also the founder of KVN Productions, said that the movie is currently undergoing its final certification process with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). He said, “Final processes are underway, and we are in discussions with the CBFC officials. We are very happy and excited.”

Movie a landmark project in Vijay’s career

Jana Nayagan is widely being termed a ‘landmark project’ in Vijay’s career, as it is expected to be his final outing on the silver screen before transitioning completely into politics. Narayana lauded Vijay’s discipline and commitment, observing that he ‘walks the talk’ when it comes to fulfilling promises.

Narayana further said that the film’s title, which translates in English to the ‘leader of the people,’ also resonates with what he described as the beginning of a ‘new era’ in Tamil Nadu under Vijay’s leadership. 

Film’s leak kicked up privacy concerns earlier

Notably, the film was leaked online earlier, after which the authorities plunged into action. They arrested a freelance editor and several others in connection with the online leak, raising concerns about piracy in the film industry. Despite the setback, the production team exhibited resilience and focused on moving forward to ensure a successful release. 

H Vinoth directorial boasts a star-studded cast

The film has been directed by H Vinoth, who has gained accolades for other projects such as Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru, Nerkonda Paarvai and Thuvinu. Jana Nayagan boasts a star-studded cast including Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju and Gautham Vasudev Menon, adding more weight to the project.
