In-laws demanded Bullet bike, gold chain

The victim’s family said that she had been subjected to continuous pressure by her husband and in-laws to fulfil additional dowry demands, including a Bullet bike and a gold chain. Her kin alleged that after she became pregnant, the harassment and torture intensified. On Friday night, which marked her first wedding anniversary, she was allegedly strangled to death.

Furthermore, Gudia’s family said they had already provided dowry to Kumar’s family within their financial means when the alliance took place, but their demands continued unabated.

Police said they rushed to the spot on receipt of information. However, by the time they arrived, Kumar and his kin had allegedly fled the house.
