Man lost US-based job due to AI

The investigating police personnel said that the man who died by suicide, Banu Chandra Reddy (32) earlier used to work in the United States. Earlier, he lost his job as his company laid off several employees, driven by a transition towards AI-focused roles, leaving him in the lurch. Since then, he had been struggling to land a stable job, and his job hunt spanned over a year. Notably, the prolonged period of unemployment led to severe financial strain, compounding his stress and uncertainty about the future.

Social isolation, family strain theories emerge during probe

The police also pointed to personal challenges faced by the couple. Their interfaith marriage did not go down well with Reddy’s family based in Telangana, leading to strained relations and limited support. With both emotional and financial backing in thin quantities, the couple was navigating their struggles largely on their own in Bengaluru.
