Dhurandhar 2 collections: 'Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge' has cemented its status as a box office juggernaut, as the film stormed into the coveted Rs 1,000 crore club globally within just seven days of its release, industry estimates suggested on Wednesday. The Aditya Dhar directorial, headlined by Ranveer Singh witnessed a stellar opening week, backed by strong collections; both domestic and overseas. 



Film maintains strong domestic hold despite midweek dip

After seeing an explosive opening weekend, which raked in Rs 454 crore net in India, the film maintained its momentum into the weekdays. On Monday, it minted Rs 65 crore, followed by Rs 56.55 crore on Tuesday, taking the domestic profits close to Rs 575 crore. By the seventh day (Wednesday), the movie’s net collection in India reached approximately Rs 585 crore. The morning shows on Wednesday registered a relatively lower footfall with around 20% occupancy, However, the film managed to gross Rs 9.51 crore by Wednesday noon, indicating audience’s sustained interest. 



Dhurandhar 2 collections: Film amasses Rs 937.49 crore within 6 days


Trade estimates suggest that the film amassed Rs 937.49 crore worldwide within six days, with contribution amounting to Rs 250 crore from overseas markets. The domestic gross for the film stood at Rs 687.49 crore, highlighting the film’s balanced appeal. The film’s trajectory ensured it comfortably marched towards the Rs 1,000 crore mark by Day 7, earning an ‘all-time blockbuster’ verdict from industry trackers. 



1.64 million tickets sold via BookMyShow on Day 1


Notably, the film has also scripted history in ticket sales. As per reports, over 1.64 million tickets were sold via BookMyShow on its opening day, followed by consistently high numbers over the next few days, despite an expected weekday dip. Canadian theatre chain Cineplex reportedly introduced a 15-minute intermission during screenings, reflecting the film’s extended runtime and popularity overseas.

Mustafa Ahmad trained Ranveer Singh in past projects too


The film has also sparked a buzz for its behind-the-scenes efforts. Actor Mustafa Ahmed, who portrays the role of Rizwan in the film, has previously trained Ranveer Singh for physical transformation in projects like Padmaavat and Gully Boy. While boasting a strong word-of-mouth and steady collections, the Dhurandhar sequel is expected to continue its stronghold on box office in the coming days, eyeing bigger milestones globally.
