Raghav Chadha latest video: A political storm is brewing within the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) after Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha publicly scrapped allegations levelled against him by his own party, terming it a ‘coordinated attack’ lacking truth. The confrontation escalated soon after Chadha was snubbed as the party’s Deputy Leader in the Rajya Sabha and was denied speaking time under AAP’s quota in the Upper House.

‘Scripted campaign against me,’ Chadha alleges in latest video

Notably, the snubbed AAP MP posted a string of video messages on ‘X’. In his latest video released on Saturday, the 37-year-old accused his party of orchestrating a ‘scripted campaign’, repeating identical allegations to tarnish his image. He remarked, “Three allegations, zero truth,” adding that he initially chose silence but decided to respond, fearing that repeated claims could mislead people.

Allegation 1: Skipping opposition walkouts

AAP first alleged that Chadha failed to join Opposition walkouts in Parliament. Chadha refuted this and challenged the party to produce evidence. “This is an absolute lie. Show a single instance where I did not stand in solidarity,” he said, urging the party to release CCTV footage from Parliament to support their claim.

Allegation 2: Refusal to sign impeachment motion

Party’s second allegation pertains to Chadha’s alleged refusal to sign a motion seeking the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Chadha debunked the claim, saying he was never asked either formally or informally to make the move.

He further pointed out that several MPs of AAP had also not signed it, questioning why he was the one being singled out. Notably, the impeachment process, akin to that for judges of the Supreme Court and High Courts, requires the signatures of at least 50 Rajya Sabha MPs to proceed.

Allegation 3: Soft politics

The third allegation the party levelled against Chadha suggested he had grown fearful and was raising trivial issues in Parliament. AAP’s Delhi chief Saurabh Bharadwaj criticised him for focusing on ‘soft PR,’ rather than major national concerns. Responding to this sharply, Chadha said his role was not to create disruption but to raise substantive issues that pertain to the general public.

He said, “I did not go to Parliament to shout or break microphones,” while listing topics he has addressed, from GST and income tax to unemployment, inflation, women’s health and healthcare.

Ending the video on a defiant note, he said, “Every lie will be exposed, and every question will be answered,” signalling that the internal rift within AAP is far from over.
