Amravati sexual exploitation: A youth aged 19, who was arrested from the Paratwada city of Maharashtra’s Amravati on Tuesday for allegedly sexually exploiting as many as 180 minor girls and filming more than 350 obscene videos of them, told the police he adopted a ‘playboy’ persona after a breakup. The accused, identified as Mohammad Ayaz, used to target girls through WhatsApp and Snapchat groups, and pushed them into the ordeal later.

Accused, his aides shared obscene videos online

Ayaz, as per police, had taken a number of girls fallen in his ‘love trap’ to Mumbai and Pune, where he recorded their obscene videos, and used them later to force them into prostitution. As per police, Ayaz and his aides had also shared some of these videos online. So far, police have arrested Ayaz, his accomplice Uzer and six others in connection with the incident.

Ayaz boasted 18k followers on gram, wanted to build ‘playboy-like’ image

During interrogation, Ayaz told the police that he had around 18,000 followers on social media platform Instagram, and had developed a desire to project a certain image of himself. He admitted to have posted selfies with girls in a compromising position to exhibit dominance and build an online ‘Playboy-like’ persona. Adding to his confession, he said that he used a friend’s house to take girls there to exploit them sexually later, paying Rs 500 each time to his ‘Partner in Crime.’ Acting upon the disclosure, the Amravati Rural Police raided multiple locations, including a flat at Kathora Naka, several cafes, and a garden near Vazhar Dham, suspected to be hellholes of the case.

Amravati sexual exploitation: Dispute between Ayaz, Uzer laid bare the incident

Sources said Uzer, who was friends with Ayaz since childhood, used to record his obscene videos with the victims. Notably, a dispute had ensued between the two, and Ayaz used to threaten Uzer. Once, when Ayaz left his phone at a stall, Uzer accessed it and shared the obscene videos and pictures stored on his device’s gallery.

The obscene media circulated widely online, blowing the lid off the detestable incident. The police arrested both Ayaz and Uzer on Tuesday, and illegal portions of Ayaz’s house were demolished by the district administration authorities on Wednesday.
