Before the final clash’s commencement, Sharma and Dhoni walked out to the centre, carrying the T20 World Cup trophy. During this, they were accompanied by ICC Chairman Jay Shah. India posted 255/5 in the final clash. Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma raced to half centuries and powered the team to a formidable total. While trying to outnumber the target, the Kiwis were bowled out for 159. Jasprit Bumrah claimed four wickets and was conferred with the ‘Player of the Match’ award. Meanwhile, Samson was named the ‘Player of the tournament.’
