Border-Gavaskar trophy to begin on Jan 21, 2027

India will play the five-test Border-Gavaskar trophy against Australia, slated to kick off on January 21, 2027. The series will be played in Chennai, Nagpur, Guwahati, Ranchi and Ahmedabad, promising a high-intensity contest between two cricketing giants. However, Kolkata, the host of the iconic 2001 India-Australia Test, has not been included in the fixtures for this series, raising eyebrows among fans.

While the BCCI has confirmed the venues and fixtures for India’s 2026–27 home season, the match timings will be announced later. The final schedule, including start times for all Tests, ODIs and T20Is, is expected to be released closer to the series dates, as per officials.
