The Indian Army has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Zoho Corporation at New Delhi, June 23, to accelerate indigenous digital transformation in line with India’s JAI (Jointness, Atmanirbharta and Innovation) mission. The collaboration is aimed at developing secure and sustainable digital solutions while promoting self-reliance in defence technology.

The partnership marks a significant step towards transforming the Indian Army into a future-ready and digitally empowered force. It will focus on application-driven research and development, technological innovation, and skill enhancement to meet evolving operational requirements.

Focus on Indigenous Technology Development

Under the agreement, the Indian Army and Zoho Corporation will work together to develop indigenous digital solutions tailored to the needs of the armed forces. The collaboration will emphasize application-based research and development to create secure, efficient, and sustainable technologies.

The initiative aligns with the government’s broader vision of promoting Atmanirbhar Bharat and reducing dependence on foreign technologies in critical sectors, including defence.By leveraging domestic expertise and innovation, the partnership seeks to strengthen India’s technological capabilities and enhance national security.

Enhancing Digital Skills and Innovation

Another key aspect of the agreement is the development of technological skills within the Indian Army. The collaboration aims to equip personnel with advanced digital competencies and foster a culture of innovation across the force.Officials believe that continuous learning and technological adaptation are essential to address emerging challenges and maintain operational effectiveness in an increasingly digital environment.

The initiative is also expected to encourage knowledge-sharing and support the creation of next-generation solutions that can improve administrative efficiency and operational preparedness.
