MP bus strike: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav called on the representatives of the Madhya Pradesh Bus Owners Association on Saturday, in light of the proposed bus strike across the state. Following the meeting, the association decided to call off the statewide bus strike, which had been scheduled to begin from March 2, 2026.

MP bus strike: CM Dr Yadav pays heed to transporters' concerns


The meeting was organized at Samatva Bhawan, at the Chief Minister's residence. In the meeting, the bus transporters kept their concerns before CM Dr Yadav, and also listed several demands.


CM Dr Yadav assured the members of the association that all their issues and operational difficulties would be resolved through dialogue. Additionally, he said that the association's office bearers would meet the transport minister of MP to address their issues at length.


Furthermore, he directed that a recently issued government information note and notification be kept on hold until the upcoming discussions are held.

CM Dr Yadav reiterates commitment to protect everyone's interests


CM Dr Yadav said that the Madhya Pradesh government is committed towards ensuring seamless public transport services across the state. "We are implementing every necessary step to provide travel facilities to the passengers, even in rural and remotest areas. Our priority is to protect everyone's interests while ensuring uninterrupted public transport," he added.



Association terms meeting with CM a 'positive dialogue'


The association, after receiving assurances from the Chief Minister, announced to withdraw their strike. The office bearers of the association also expressed their gratitude towards CM Dr Yadav for paving the way for a satisfactory resolution. Transport secretary Manish Singh, association's president, vice-president and bus owners from all ten divisions of MP were in attendance in the meeting.
