MP Bike expedition: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav will flag off the third edition of the ‘Queens on the Wheels’ bike expedition on Saturday from his official residence. According to the Department of Public Relations (DPR) of MP, the Chief Minister will do the honours at 9 am on Saturday.

MP Bike expedition: Initiative aims to promote historical, tourism destinations


According to tourism department officials, the initiative is aimed at promoting the state’s rich historical and tourism destinations across India and internationally. Notably, 25 female superbikers from across the country will embark on a 1400 kilometre biking trail from state capital Bhopal to Khajuraho. The seven-day-long event will reflect the spirit of women empowerment, independence, cultural exploration and the state’s diverse tourism landscape.

MP Bike expedition: Tourism secretary sheds light on event’s goal


Dr Ilayaraja T, Secretary of Tourism, and Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, shed light on the event. He said that the ‘Queens on the Wheels’ initiative is far more than a conventional bike ride. “It is a celebration of women’s empowerment, courage and the rich cultural and tourism heritage of Madhya Pradesh,” he added.

Continuing his statements, Dr Ilayaraja said that the participation of 25 female superbikers from across India would draw attention to the state’s unique tourism destinations at both national as well as international levels. He underlined that the riders will enjoy the diversity of MP’s tourist attractions during the remarkable journey from Bhopal to Khajuraho. 

Notably, the tourism board aims to establish MP’s reputation as a safe, adventurous and world-class travel destination by means of such innovative campaigns. 

Bike expedition to pass through these sites


The week-long biking expedition, kicking off from Bhopal, will pass through the state’s iconic historical and cultural locations such as Sanchi, Udayagiri, Chanderi, Shivpuri, Kuno, Gwalior, Datia, Orchha and Khajuraho, after which it will conclude in Bhopal.

Expedition to end on March 13 in state capital


The female bikers are expected to return to the state capital on March 13, thereby resting the unique expedition. Officials believe that the initiative will underscore MP’s historical and archaeological heritage, while stepping up rural tourism circuits and encouraging responsible travel.
