A spine-chilling murder case has surfaced from Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow, sending a wave of panic across the city, where a man allegedly killed his minor daughter, chopped her body into pieces and attempted to dispose of the severed body parts across different locations to conceal the crime. The police said the accused has been identified as Biggan Ansari, and has been arrested in connection with the incident.

According to police, the gruesome incident came to light on May 17 after the Government Railway Police (GRP) discovered a tin box abandoned at Gomti Nagar Railway station.

Severed body parts inside tin box

Police officials aware of the case details said that the recovered box contained the torso of the minor girl, while her severed hands and legs were found inside a separate bag placed above it. The GRP registered a First Information Report (FIR) after the harrowing discovery and sent the remains for autopsy. They then launched a probe to identify the victim and trace her murderers.

The cops began scanning CCTV footage and tracking the route of the train linked to the abandoned box. They travelled to Chhapra first, where they reviewed surveillance footage from the originating railway station.

Later, the trail led the cops to Tamukhi Road Railway Station in UP’s Kushinagar district, where a man and a woman were seen in CCTV footage loading the box onto a train.

Cops circulate footage among locals, net accused

The police thereafter circulated screenshots from the footage among local residents, eventually leading to the identification of the accused, Biggan Ansari. During interrogation, Ansari confessed to murdering his daughter and dismembering her body with the assistance of relatives. As per cops, Ansari told them that he suspected the teen girl of being involved in an affair and feared she would leave home like his two elder daughters.

GRP SP Rohit Mishra said the accused admitted that he feared ‘social stigma’ and became infuriated over his daughter’s decisions. Other officials said that Ansari concocted the plan to murder his daughter while his wife and two sons had gone to his in-laws’ residence. He used to drive an e-rickshaw and post-murder, transported the box and the bag containing his daughter’s body parts via the vehicle to the railway station.

Upon his disclosure, the police also seized the weapon used in the crime.

Search underway for victim’s head

The accused also told the police that he had thrown his daughter’s severed head into a pond near the Uttar Pradesh-Bihar border after hacking her to death. Authorities said efforts are underway to locate the head and apprehend other accused suspected of aiding Ansari in disposing of the body.
