Gujarat news: The pursuit of amassing social media fame took a tragic turn for Gujarat’s two youths on Saturday late night, after their car rushing at a high speed ploughed into a farmhouse wall in Rajkot, the police said. As per police, the incident transpired at the Dhoraji Road, when the youths on board the car were filming a reel to post it on Instagram.


Police officials aware of the incident said that the car was being driven at a speed of 150 kmph when the driver lost control.

One dies on spot, another succumbs in hospital


According to police reports, the youth who was driving the car was killed on the spot. He has been identified as Avadh Tiwari (20). After the car slammed into the wall of Balkrishna Farm House in Rajkot, Tiwari succumbed to his injuries on the scene itself. Meanwhile, another boy named Devraj Gosai (16) died while undergoing treatment at the hospital on Sunday morning. 


A third occupant, identified as Akshay Vaghela (20), managed to survive the fatal crash, and is being treated at the hospital. The police said that the accident occurred while the trio was heading to Dhoraji from Jetpur. 



Gujarat news: Tiwari uploaded the high-speed car’s video on social media


The investigating police officials said that the crash occurred shortly after Tiwari uploaded a video on Instagram, in which he was seen driving the car at a high speed. After his friends and acquaintances learnt about his death, they posted condolence messages on the same Instagram story, writing “Miss you brother.”

Rajkot SP confirms Tiwari had criminal background


Rajkot’s rural Superintendent of Police (SP) Vijaysingh Gurjar confirmed that Tiwari had a criminal record, and was facing cases pertaining to extortion and attempt-to-murder. He, as per police, had recently been released from jail after being detained under the Prevention of Anti-social Activities Act (PASA). The cops said they have seized a cell phone recovered from the scene, which is locked at present, and the viral reel circulating online will be verified during the probe.
