Akshay Kumar daughter harassed: The Maharashtra Cyber wing on Saturday made its first arrest in connection with the online harassment of Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar’s teenage daughter. The development comes months after the disturbing episode had been reported.

According to officials, the incident unfolded on an online gaming platform, and had earlier been highlighted by Kumar while he was addressing the inaugural ceremony of Cyber Awareness Month 2025 at the Mumbai-located State Police Headquarters. He had spilled the beans on the alarming experience to underline the growing threats kids face in the digital space.

Unidentified player asked Kumar’s daughter for nudes

Recounting his daughter’s ordeal, Kumar said his daughter had been playing a multiplayer video game, which allows users to interact with random fellow gamers. Initially, the exchange of Kumar’s daughter with another player appeared harmless.

However, the gamer’s tone shifted when he began asking intrusive and personal questions, including her location. After learning she was from Mumbai, the conversation further took a troubling turn. The actor revealed that the individual eventually asked his daughter whether she was male or female. Upon being told that she was female, the gamer allegedly requested her to send her ‘nude photos’ to him.

Kumar’s daughter immediately exited the platform and informed her mother, Twinkle Khanna.

Highlighting the sensitivity of such incidents, Kumar underscored that cyber crimes often begin in subtle ways before taking a dangerous turn, including extortion and psychological distress. He maintained that children can easily be manipulated online, sometimes leading to dire consequences.

He also urged the Devendra Fadnavis-led Maharashtra government to introduce cyber awareness sessions in the state’s schools on a regular basis. He noted that cyber-crime is rapidly outpacing traditional forms of crime, and requires urgent attention.
