Ahead of the NEET UG 2026 re-test slated for June 21, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has junked widespread claims regarding the possibility of an alleged leak or sale of the rescheduled exam paper. It warned students and parents on Saturday against falling prey to fraudulent schemes circulating online. 

The agency issued an official statement on Saturday, in which it termed such claims ‘false, fraudulent and intended to mislead.’ It asserted that the integrity of the examination process remains uncompromised, and that the organised cheating rackets had been exploiting the candidates’ anxiety by peddling fake question papers. 

Its statement read, “Every such claim circulating is a fabrication,” reiterating that no unauthorised person has access to the new examination paper. 

Exam security remains intact, says agency

Amid growing speculation in the digital ecosystem, the NTA sought to reassure lakhs of NEET aspirants. It emphasised that stringent safeguards and security mechanisms have been implemented to ensure a transparent, fair and secure testing environment for all candidates. 

Furthermore, it urged students not to rely on unverified information being shared by means of social media posts, private groups or messaging applications. The NTA maintained that any genuine update linked to the re-test would be communicated exclusively through its official channels.

NTA initiates cyber-crime action against misinformation

Besides this, the NTA revealed that it has begun identifying such social media accounts, online channels and digital platforms propagating false information related to the pan-India medical entrance exam. It said such content is duly being reported to both platform operators and cyber-crime authorities for immediate removal and investigation. 

Additionally, the agency said that complaints are being lodged with law enforcement agencies against people and groups responsible for creating the aforementioned menace. 

Advisory issued for parents, students

In a strongly-worded advisory, the agency urged candidates and parents not to engage with any such person or organisation which claims to offer access to the NEET UG 2026 re-examination paper. It also cautioned them against processing payments or forwarding such messages. 

Moreover, the NTA attempted to calm concern among candidates set to take the exam, by encouraging them to remain focused on studies rather than being distracted by rumours and misinformation. Its statement read, “Your hard work is what matters, and NTA remains committed to conducting a fair, secure and credible examination.”
