Social media personality and founder of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), Abhijeet Dipke announced on Monday that he will be landing in India on June 6 to hold a peaceful protest in New Delhi, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan following a series of exam-related controversies. 

Dipke made the announcement on social media platform ‘X,’ marking his first planned visit to India since launching the satirical political movement which rapidly rose to fame among students and young people online.

Dipke plans protest at Jantar Mantar

Dipke said he intends to arrive in Delhi on June 6 morning and seek official permission to hold a demonstration at Jantar Mantar, the national capital’s designated spot for public protests. He clarified that the protest would be peaceful and constitutional, while urging supporters, students and young citizens to join him in demanding accountability from the government. He said, “The time has come for all of us to unite and peacefully raise our voices,” adding that democratic dissent remains a fundamental right guaranteed under the Indian Constitution.

His announcement mentioned that the supporters will gather at the airport to proceed later to the Parliament Street Police Station to seek permission for the proposed protest. 

“Someone has to take responsibility”: Dipke

Dipke said his campaign comes against the backdrop of growing concerns surrounding competitive exams, particularly the cancellation of NEET UG 2026 following allegations of a paper leak. The pan-India medical entrance exam is now slated to be held on June 21. 

He contended that repeated controversies involving major exams have undermined the confidence of millions of students of the country and have left many uncertain about their academic futures. 

Dipke referred to the candidates affected by NEET, CBSE examinations, CUET and SSC GD recruitment tests, claiming that more than one crore students have suffered due to systemic failures and administrative lapses. 

He said, “Someone has to take responsibility,” underlining that accountability is essential in a democratic system. He also said some people fear he could face legal action upon India touchdown, but expressed confidence that authorities would permit a peaceful demonstration.

“Am an admirer of Gandhi, Ambedkar”

The CJP founder also called himself an admirer of Mahatma Gandhi, Dr BR AMbedkar, Bhagat Singh and Jawaharlal Nehru, emphasising that his movement would remain rooted in constitutional values and non-violent methods. He also revealed that he had recently received multiple job offers in the US but chose to return to India instead. 

Saying that he wanted to contribute to the country which shaped his life, he said the responsibility of safeguarding the future of students rests with citizens as much as institutions.
