Pravin Goyal, the father of Siya Goyal who has been accused of murdering a Pune-based businessman Ketan Agarwal at the Lohagad fort, suffered a heart attack late Thursday night, and is undergoing treatment at a hospital as new developments continue to emerge in the high-profile case.

In an interaction with a media outlet from his hospital bed, Pravin said his family was shattered by Ketan’s murder and dismissed reports which claimed that an extravagant destination wedding between Siya and Ketan had been planned in Udaipur. 

He said, “There was no aircraft booking. The entire wedding, including hotel bookings in Udaipur, would have cost between Rs 3 crore and Rs 5 crore,” rejecting speculation surrounding the couple’s wedding arrangements.

Pravin expressed profound grief over Ketan’s death, Pravin said the family had accepted him as one of their own and had looked forward to a future with him. He added, “What happened was very tragic. We still can’t believe it. They’ve lost their son and their son was ours too. We loved him so much. I had become so attached to him that it felt like he was our own son. We lost such a loving, promising and good boy. We are deeply saddened by that. There is nothing more tragic than this. We had so many good dreams for the future.” 

He further claimed that Siya had never expressed reluctance about marrying Ketan. He said, “Ever since the match was finalised, she was always happy. She always talked about Ketan. If his parents had even slightly informed us that something was going wrong, we would have spoken to them.” 

Siya’s mom demands strict action if allegations are proven

Meanwhile, Siya’s mother, Pooja Goyal has issued a strongly-worded statement which has drawn widespread attention. She said her daughter should face the harshest possible punishment if she is proved guilty in the court. She said, “If she is guilty, then she should receive the strictest punishment. Hang her if she is guilty; a mother is saying this.” 

Her remarks come days after Pune Rural Police arrested Siya and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary, in connection with Ketan’s death. According to cops, the duo allegedly conspired to murder Agarwal before pushing him off a cliff at Lohagad Fort near Pune on June 18, 2026. 

Both Siya and Chetan remain in police custody as the probe progresses. Authorities are currently examining the circumstances surrounding the incident and are persevering in efforts to gather evidence to establish the sequence of events. 

The allegations against the accused duo are yet to be tested in court, and a probe is underway.
