Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav on Sunday transferred a whopping Rs 360 crore to as many as 900 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by means of a single-click digital transfer at an event titled ‘Samriddh MSME-Viksit Madhya Pradesh’ programme organised at Bhopal’s Kushabhau Thakre auditorium. 

The Chief Minister inaugurated the event by lighting a ceremonial lamp and later at the event, handed over the letters of intent for land allotment to entrepreneurs. He then distributed financial assistance cheques to beneficiaries of the Madhya Pradesh Start-up Policy, while beneficiaries of the Chief Minister Udyam Kranti Yojana received loan sanction cheques.

In his address at the event, CM Dr Yadav said India is emerging as a distinct economic force on the global level under the leadership of Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi. He lauded the PM’s contribution towards revving up the country’s economy and creating an environment conducive for industrial development.

He also reflected on the industrial growth recorded during PM Modi’s tenure in Gujarat, and cited the example of late leading industrialist Ratan Tata’s small-car project. He underlined that after facing hurdles in acquiring land elsewhere, Tata chose Gujarat as a destination for investment. 

Further in his address, the Chief Minister assured the entrepreneurs in attendance at the event of full support from the government for establishing new industries in Madhya Pradesh and said the state is working with a long-term vision aligned with the objective of a developed India. 

1 crore MSME units targeted by 2047

The Chief Minister announced that the state government has set a target of registering one crore MSME units by 2047. According to him, achieving this goal could generate employment opportunities for more than two crore people across the state.

Speaking to the media, CM Dr Yadav said the government has been consistently encouraging young entrepreneurs. He stated that MSMEs currently provide employment to more than 12.5 million people in Madhya Pradesh.

He further claimed that nearly Rs 3.75 crore in pending dues to MSME units had been cleared by the government up to March 2026, describing it as one of the administration’s significant achievements. The state, he added, is progressing rapidly in the industrial sector and has introduced several initiatives to promote food-processing industries during the Agriculture Welfare Year.

Industry-friendly policies driving growth

Principal Secretary for Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion and the MSME Department, Raghvendra Singh, said Madhya Pradesh currently has over 5.26 lakh manufacturing units with investments worth Rs 42,700 crore. These units provide direct and indirect employment to nearly 44 lakh people.

He stated that under CM Dr Yadav’s leadership, the state has implemented an industry-friendly MSME policy. Over the past two-and-a-half years, 6,136 MSME entrepreneurs have received investment assistance amounting to Rs 3,723 crore, compared to Rs 1,245 crore distributed during the preceding two-and-a-half-year period. 

Singh added that all pending industrial incentive payments up to March 31, 2026, had been cleared. He also noted that Madhya Pradesh currently operates 181 industrial areas, while 44 new industrial zones and clusters have been proposed. More than 1,000 industrial plots have been allotted to entrepreneurs over the past year.

Entrepreneurs laud state government’s vision

Rajesh Mishra, State President of Laghu Udyog Bharati, credited the state government with accelerating industrial development over the past two-and-a-half years. He said the organisation is actively working to attract investments from other states to Madhya Pradesh and praised the government’s transparent approach towards supporting entrepreneurs.

Cheques distributed to entrepreneurs

Entrepreneurs attending the event also shared their success stories. Rashi Mehra, founder of Alanna Company, said her lip-care brand, which began in Madhya Pradesh, now supplies products across India and overseas markets. Entrepreneur Kunal Gyani revealed that his MSME venture, which started as a small unit in the state, now operates in five states and is preparing to expand into the United Kingdom.

He described Madhya Pradesh as the “Heart of India” and said it offers one of the lowest industrial operating costs in the country.
