MP CM Dr Yadav visits Varanasi, offers prayers at Kashi Vishwanath temple
MP UP Sahyog Sammelan: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav on Tuesday arrived in Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, and paid obeisance at the Kashi Vishwanath temple. His visit, as per officials, coincides with his participation in the MP-UP Cooperation Conference 2026, whose goal is to strengthen trade and economic ties between both the states.

CM holds review meeting after prayers
After offering prayers at the temple, CM Dr Yadav chaired a review meeting with local officials to comprehend the temple’s administration and operations. CEO of the temple, Vishwa Bhushan Mishra briefed him on the functioning of the shrine, outlining that the Vishwanath corridor lodges 115 idols, including 14 prominent temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. A detailed presentation was also given to explain the management system of the temple.
CM accorded warm welcome ahead of key conference
CM Dr Yadav reached Varanasi, and was received at the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport. UP Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta accorded him a warm welcome on the occasion. He was accompanied by several other leaders, including MSME Minister Rakesh Sachan and Minister of State for Sports and Youth Welfare, Girish Yadav.
Varanasi visit linked to Simhastha 2028 preps
Following the visit to the Kashi Vishwanath temple, CM Dr Yadav took stock of the Kashi Vishwanath corridor to assess crowd management systems and modern infrastructure. Officials said the visit also holds strategic importance, as MP is buckling up to host Simhastha Kumbh 2028 in Ujjain.
