Ahead of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2026 re-examination scheduled to be held on June 21, 2026, the Director General of Police (DGP) of Madhya Pradesh, Kailash Makwana conducted a comprehensive review of the security preparations by means of a video conferencing with the Superintendents of Police (SPs) of all districts of the state on Wednesday. 

The meeting, held at MP Police Headquarters (PHQ), was aimed at ensuring the secure, transparent and fair conduct of one of India’s most crucial entrance exams. Discussions covered security arrangements, inter-departmental coordination, cyber monitoring, safeguarding of question papers and preparedness at exam centres across the state.

Maintaining exam’s credibility the top priority: DGP

DGP Makwana emphasised that maintaining the credibility of the pan-India medical entrance examination remains the top priority of the state police. He directed the officials present in the meeting to ensure complete security at every stage of the process, from the receipt and storage of question papers to their transportation to the exam centres and the safe return of answer sheets and confidential material post-examination. 

No security lapses to be tolerated

The state’s top cop instructed the police chiefs of all the districts to personally take stock of exam centres, question paper storage facilities and associated banks by June 20. He called for the need to verify the functioning of CCTV cameras, Door Frame Metal Detectors (DFMDs), deployment of security personnel and arrangements for candidate entry at all centres.

The SPs of all the districts have also been ordered to review the transportation of question papers, security of strong rooms, protection of confidential material, traffic management and emergency response systems to ensure that all arrangements are in place well before the examination day. 

38 cyber commandos roped in to monitor online threats

Owing to the sensitivity of the exam, DGP Makwana announced that 38 cyber commandos would remain active across the state to monitor and prevent any unlawful activities unfolding across digital platforms. 

He instructed officials to ramp up cyber surveillance to curb paper leak attempts, shut down misinformation campaigns and curtail the use of unfair means. Authorities have also been instructed to maintain vigilance on social media platforms and closely monitor people and groups linked earlier to exam-related offences. 

Towards the end of the meeting, the DGP directed police and district administrations to conduct necessary checks at hotels, lodges, coaching centres and other sensitive locations. District-level coordination committees have been asked to remain active, with heightened vigilance during the final 72 hours before the exam. 

Notably, as many as 1.18 lakh candidates shall take the exam at 283 exam centres across the state.
