“You continue to inspire millions”: Sushant Singh Rajput’s sister shares heartfelt post on his 6th death anniversary
Six years after the untimely demise of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, his legacy continues to resonate with millions of his admirers across the world. On his sixth death anniversary on June 14, 2026 (Sunday), his sister, Shweta Singh Kirti, shared a deeply touching tribute, choosing to celebrate the actor’s life, values and enduring influence rather than dwell on the circumstances of his demise.
Rajput, who gained critical acclaim for Hindi films like Kedarnath, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story and Chichhore, was found dead at his residence in Mumbai’s upscale Bandra area on June 14, 2020. He was 34.
“I think of how he lived”: Shweta in her post
Taking to social media platform Instagram on Sunday, Shweta reflected on the qualities that made her brother Sushant beloved both on and off screen. In a heartfelt message, she wrote that although six years have passed, some people leave behind a legacy that grows stronger with time.
Rather than remembering the day he passed away, Shweta said she prefers to remember the way he lived, with boundless curiosity, a fascination for the universe, and a deep respect for people from all walks of life.
She termed Sushant someone who believed that professional success held little meaning unless it was accompanied by kindness and compassion. She also noted that his influence continues to be felt whenever people choose empathy over anger, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over despair.
Sushant’s legacy beyond the Silver screen
In her tribute, Shweta also underscored that love transcends time and that the impact of a good human being continues long after their physical presence is gone. According to her, the greatest way to honour Sushant’s memory is not through sadness, but by embracing the values he embodied throughout his life. She encouraged people to remain curious, continue learning, dream fearlessly and protect their kindness despite the challenges thrown by life.
Towards the conclusion of her message, she wrote that the true measure of a life is not its duration but the number of lives it touches. By that standard, she said, Sushant remains way too alive in the hearts of those he inspired.

Fans continue to celebrate Sushant
The tribute has surfaced days after Shweta reacted to AI-generated images depicting Sushant as Lord Ram following the release of Ramayana’s teaser. She said the visuals stirred deep emotions and brought back memories for her brother.
The late actor’s influence extends far beyond cinema due to the intelligence, humility, passion for science and commitment to self-improvement which he possessed.
