Delhi Police Bust Pakistan-Backed Terror Module, Seven Operatives Arrested

Delhi Police have arrested seven individuals allegedly linked to a Pakistan backed terror crime syndicate involved in smuggling arms and narcotics into India, conducting reconnaissance of potential targets, and transmitting sensitive information to handlers across the border.

The arrests were made by the Delhi Police Special Cell following a detailed intelligence-led investigation that uncovered what officials described as a sophisticated network operating under the patronage of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

Authorities said the module served as a critical link between organized crime and terror-related activities, posing a significant threat to national security.

Pakistan Backed Terror Group of 7

According to investigators, the network was allegedly operated by Pakistan-based gangster-terror operatives Shahzad Bhatti and Ajmal Gujjar, who coordinated activities through a network of local associates in India.

The accused were reportedly tasked with gathering intelligence, facilitating the movement of contraband, and identifying potential targets for future operations.

Arms Smuggling and Narcotics Network Exposed

Police officials said the seven accused played key roles in smuggling weapons and narcotics from Pakistan through established cross-border routes. The recovered evidence suggests that the syndicate used criminal networks to transport illegal consignments while simultaneously supporting activities linked to extremist elements.

Authorities believe the module's operations extended beyond trafficking and were designed to strengthen terror infrastructure by providing logistical support and funding channels.

Reconnaissance of Potential Targets

Investigators revealed that members of the syndicate conducted surveillance and reconnaissance of several potential targets. Information gathered during these operations was allegedly passed on to handlers based in Pakistan through encrypted communication platforms.

Officials said the accused maintained regular contact with foreign operatives and were instructed to monitor locations of strategic importance. The intelligence collected could have been used to plan disruptive or violent activities, making the network a serious security concern.

ISI Links Under Investigation

Preliminary findings indicate that the module functioned under the guidance of Pakistan's ISI. Communication records, digital evidence, and financial transaction trails recovered during the investigation reportedly point to direct links with handlers operating from across the border.

Security agencies are now examining whether the network had connections with other terror modules and organized crime syndicates active in different parts of the country. Investigators are also attempting to identify additional operatives who may have provided logistical or financial assistance.

Major Breakthrough for Security Agencies

The seven suspects were apprehended during coordinated raids following months of surveillance and intelligence gathering by security agencies. Several electronic devices, documents, and other materials believed to be connected to the operation were seized and sent for forensic analysis.

Officials described the arrests as a major breakthrough in India's efforts to combat cross-border terrorism and organized crime. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not ruled out further arrests as they continue to unravel the full extent of the Pakistan-backed network's activities.
