Bill Gates Says Jeffrey Epstein Knew About Extramarital Affairs, Raises Concerns Over Possible Leverage

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has told a US congressional panel that Jeffrey Epstein allegedly knew about several of his extramarital affairs and may have considered using that information as leverage to pressure him into re-establishing contact.

According to testimony released this week, Gates said there was a “serious probability” that Epstein had contemplated using the personal information against him. However, Gates stressed that Epstein never actually blackmailed him and that no threats or demands were ever made. The testimony was given during a closed-door congressional hearing that formed part of a broader investigation into Epstein’s network and his relationships with influential figures from business, politics, and academia.

Gates Calls Continued Contact with Epstein a Mistake

During the testimony, Gates once again admitted that maintaining contact with Epstein after his criminal conviction was a mistake. The billionaire philanthropist said he regretted the decision and acknowledged that his association with Epstein had damaged his reputation and raised questions about his judgment.

Gates also firmly denied any involvement in Epstein’s crimes or illegal activities, reiterating that his interactions with the disgraced financier did not extend to any criminal conduct. The comments mirror statements Gates has made publicly in previous interviews, where he described his meetings with Epstein as an error in judgment.

Renewed Focus on Epstein’s Connections

The release of the testimony comes amid renewed public interest in Epstein’s network following the publication of additional documents by the US Justice Department. Investigators and lawmakers have continued to examine Epstein’s relationships with powerful individuals and institutions to better understand the extent of his influence and connections.

Epstein, who was convicted in 2008 on charges related to soliciting prostitution from a minor, later faced federal sex trafficking charges in 2019. He died in prison that same year while awaiting trial. Despite his death, questions surrounding his associates and contacts continue to generate significant public attention.

Investigation Continues

Congressional investigators are reportedly reviewing testimony and documents related to individuals who had professional, social, or financial ties with Epstein over the years. While Gates remains one of several high-profile figures whose interactions with Epstein have come under scrutiny, there is no indication in the testimony that he was involved in Epstein’s criminal activities.

The latest disclosures have nevertheless added fresh attention to one of the most closely watched investigations involving powerful and influential figures, ensuring that questions surrounding Epstein’s network are likely to remain in the spotlight for some time.
