Market Fluctuations Intensify Amid US-Iran Tensions and Peace Talks

Today lots of ups and down was seen in the market Because of the dilemma of peace talks between US and Israel and agains the attackes of America on Iran there was seeen negaitive sentiments in the market, short selling of Foreign investors and dollar was all time high against rupees there is a decline and market closed today with a decrease of 114.19 points at 75200.85 and the Nifty closed with a decrease of 31.95 points at 23618.00. In today's trading also , geopolitical tension across the border was seen, the prices of Crude oil have gone down by 110 dollars per barrel since the Strait of Hormuz is not open yet and are more likely the situation is not much clear but if it goes up the risk of inflation will increase. Today the share price of FMCG , Banking, and Metal sector saw the most significant losses.
Today, a mixed movement was seen in the Asian Markets also, Japan Nikkei closed with a decrease of 0.44% of 265.36 points at 60550.59 points , while Chinese markets Shanghai Composite Index closed today with a increase of 0.92% of 38.01 points at 4169.54 , the South Koreas kospi Index decreased by 3.25% by 244.38 points and closed at 7271.66 points and Hangseng Index of Hongkong was closed today with a increase of 0.48% by 122.67 points at 25797.85 points.The American markets on 18th May 2026 also had mixed movement , Dow Jones increased by 0.32% by 159.95 points and closed at 49686.12 points whereas S&P 500 index decreased by 0.07% by 5.45 points and closed at 7403.05 points.
